{Party Tip Tuesday} Just Say “Yes!”
Planning even the smallest of soirees can be a lot for one person to take on. As the host, you have to think about the guest list, theme, food, drink, activities, décor, cleaning, etc! The list goes on and on. So one thing I’ve learned to do recently that helps immensely is actually saying “yes” when people ask if they can bring something to your party. I used to feel bad asking people to contribute something, but if someone asks, they really won’t mind! Especially if it’s a close friend or family member. It took me a while to learn that this was an easy way to take some things off my plate (pun intended) and to let go of trying to control every detail. But remember, if you’re going to ask your guests to bring something, make it simple! Good suggestions are things that don’t take a lot of prep time—soda, veggie tray, bottle of wine, ice, etc. It’s probably best if you leave the chocolate fondue fountain for yourself! This will save you a lot of time shopping and preparing and also save a little cash. In short – take the help that’s offered to you. It’s perfectly acceptable and you’ll be grateful in the end!
